Who we are:
We are the Passionists of the Holy Spirit Province (Australia, NZ, PNG, Vietnam). We live as a community of “active contemplatives,” maintaining a healthy and fulfilling balance between ministry and prayer. Everything about our life is based on the Passion of Jesus, or as St Paul of the Cross (our Founder) calls it: “The greatest work of God’s love.”
While our traditional ministries have been leading retreats and parish missions, we also explore and accept other avenues that enable us to keep alive the memory of the Passion and to minister to the Suffering Christ of today. St Paul once wrote, “The zeal for the ministry of the Cross is ingenious,” and indeed that zeal has taken us to 63 countries, seeking the marginalised in our society.
It is our unique vocation as Passionists – “To love Christ in His Passion, and to be there for others in theirs”.

Our Stories
I am part of a congregation that offers both traditional and new, exciting possibilities in ministry. It is a community full of joy, love and connection.
For me, being a Passionist is an ongoing process. It is something that you continue growing into until the day you die.
The first thing that caught my attention about the Passionists was this idea of suffering. This resonated with my experience of being a refugee as a child.
This experience of God’s Love in my own life has led me, through study, discernment and reflection, to the conviction that I am called to live this life.

May the passion of Christ be always in our minds and hearts.
